Caldwell, Garrett

Garrett is the head coach of the Goalkeeping program at Torpedoes, and the club is very fortunate to have a trainer with his background and experience.

Garrett is a former graduate of the University of British Columbia where he was the starting goalkeeper.  During this time Garrett was also called to the U19 National Team and to the Canadian Olympic Squad. Following his graduation from college, Garrett was lucky enough to pursue a career in professional soccer. Garrett first joined the Winnipeg Fury before deciding to move overseas where he played for Colchester United in England.

When his playing days ended, Garrett decided to stay involved in the sport he had always loved and played and began a career in coaching. Garrett has been able to pass on his vast knowledge and experience to many goalkeepers throughout New Jersey, working at various clubs along with St Peters College and Newark Academy Varsity and Middle School teams.

Garrett has been involved with Torpedoes since 2002 and currently trains all the goalkeepers throughout the club using a specialized curriculum to fit the age and ability of each goalkeeper he trains.
